Unit 2, D1.

Security virus protection and firewalls improve a computers performance by keeping the computer clean from malware and viruses which can majorly impact the performance. It removes any virus the computer might have that could cause any damage to the PC and blocks and protects it from further viruses meaning that the computer can stay running smoothly without being affected by any harmful bugs.

Clean up tools remove temporary files, recycle bin, system logs and any other files that are not necessary that build up and take up memory. This means that the computer will run faster and it will be much easier to find documents and files that you need, making using your computer much less time consuming. Using a clean-up tool regularly is critical in order to expand the lifetime of a computer and improving its performance.

Drive formatting enables the computer to run much faster and smoother as all data which is on the disk is erased and a fresh copy of the operating system is reinstalled.  It wipes the data from and old OS install so the old files don’t corrupt the new OS install. It is advisable to do this at least once a year in order to improve performance quality of a computer.
